Bunny Jay

G&B1

We received the very sad news that Bunny Jay died a few days ago. His Brother and life long comedy partner Gordon Jay passed away recently, his funeral was only five weeks ago.

I spoke to Bunny on the telephone a few times after Gordon passed away, the last time quite recently. Very sad news, and our thoughts and wishes to both families. Gordon and Bunny Jay were masters of their craft. Their craft was comedy, and their world was Summer Season and Pantomime for so very many years.

If you scroll down to October 27th on this section, you will find an appreciation of these two comedy giants. They will both be very much missed.

So sad to learn of the recent death of Bunny Jay and His brother Gordon too. My condolences to their families. They were wonderful in Pantomime. I worked with them in several shows in the 60’s and have wonderful memories of them both. They were unique and we will never see their like again, as they were old school , treading the boards for most of their life . They made it look easy ! God Bless you Both. Diana Day Puss in Boots.

RIP Gordon and Bunny. 1983 I understudied Gordon and shared digs with Bunny at Sunderland during Jack and the Beanstalk season at the Empire. So sad to learn of their passing- great guys and a very funny twosome. David Purchase

Can anyone tell me if Gordon or Bunny had any children.
i was sad to learn that they have died.
I was married to their cousin Lionel Jones (died in 2008) and knew their grand father, if there are any children.

    Hi Jackie,

Gordon (Dad) had 2 of us Simon and me. Mum and Dad lived in Chester until they both passed away, sadly Mum died in January last year only a few weeks after Bunny and 12 weeks after Dad. Simon lives in Bedfordshire and I live in North Wales.

Bunny had 2 children, Angela, now living in Jersey and Andrew who sadly passed away a few years ago. Pam, Bunny’s wife still lives in Dorset.

Feel free to get in touch.

    Best wishes

    Jeremy

How much fun I had watching them at a very famous holiday camp in Skegness, a pleasure to watch. God bless you both gentlemen and may your legend live on.
